Balloon Vibration: Sound is created as a result of the vibration of an object or a few objects. The sound waves are produced when an object or some objects vibrate and these sound waves do have energy. Let us see what the sound waves can do using a balloon.
Try it yourself
- A balloon
- A friend
Step 1: Blow up the balloon.
Step 2: Keep the balloon against your friend’s ear.
Step 3: Now you talk to the balloon from the other side.
Step 4: Repeat the steps by changing your roles (you listen as your friend speaks).
You can listen to the sound through the balloon. You can also feel the vibrations of sound on the balloon. This is because sound is the result of vibrating objects and the sound has energy.
There are more experiments on sound and experiments using balloons in our experiments section. Visit our experiments section here.
