Greenhouse From Balloon Experiment: What a greenhouse is? A greenhouse protects plants from heavy winds, temperature fluctuations, and heavy rains. It also keeps the warm air and moist inside and offers a good atmosphere for the plants to grow. Let’s try making a greenhouse with a balloon.
Try it yourself
- A clear balloon
- Carrot or radish seeds
Step 1: Place the funnel to fit into the balloon through its mouth.
Step 2: Pour in almost half a cup of dirt through the funnel. Make sure that the dirt is not falling outside.
Step 3: Pour 3 to 4 tablespoons of water through the funnel into the balloon.
Step 4: Now drop some of the seeds.
Step 5: Remove the funnel from the mouth of balloon and blow air into balloon. Don’t fill it full; it may pop.
Step 6: Knot the inflated balloon and hang the balloon near a window.
You will see that the plants sprout and grow inside the balloon in a few days.
The balloon acts as a greenhouse and protects the seeds to grow and become a plant. The balloon will keep the temperature warm and humid inside to help the seeds to sprout and grow.
